Cancel Service
I have service with ATT and am looking to switch another service. I have previously dont the ATT offer for a new phone for $0 if you trade in a new phone. The offer gives us monthly credits towards the phones. My question is is there a way for me to get these phones unlocked because the phones were supposed to be free or will i be penalized for leaving att while these phones are technically still on payment?

Paying off your phone to unlock it shouldn't stop the credits. Cancelling service, however, will. AT&T isn't giving you a free phone to use with a different provider.
If you still decide to leave, pay off the remaining installments, unlocked the phone, THEN leave. Leaving with the phone locked is a bad idea.
