Can I transfer my line to a new phone?

Hello,

I'm interested in purchasing a cheap Windows phone from the Microsoft Store:

{commercial link removed}

This is a no contract phone under AT&T's network. In the past, for example, I've switched my line from a Samsung go phone to a hand-me-down iPhone 4 I'm currently using. I would assume that since all of these phones are not contracted, I should be able to purchase this Lumia 520 with a new SIM, contact AT&T, and switch my line to the new phone.

Is this accurate? I want to be sure before I purchase the phone. I would assume that this works the same way as when I transferred from my Samsung phone to my iPhone, but I would rather be sure.

Thanks for any help.

Also, just my two cents, but please remove that username restriction on the string "att" - seems ridiculous to me that I can't use my normal web alias (chattabox) instead of the butchered version I'm using now. It isn't like someone's going to construe from the "att" in "chattabox" that I'm some kind of official rep.

Best regards,

Yes, you can replace your current phone with this one, with no change in your service or billing.
You might get what you pay for, but most of the reviews were pretty good.

As for your alias, I would not expect a fix. Your solution seems to do the job.
