att-promotions site and saraplus.com scam???

I recently needed to move my internet services to my new home. I googled "att move service to new address" and was directed to the att-promotions.com site. I called the number (xxx-xxx-xxxx) and spoke to someone for nearly 50 minutes to move services to my new address. I was sent several messages with pin codes I was requested to repeat as well as a site with the url saraplus.com to confirm paperless billing and asked for my credit card info. I needed a second router, so I was directly connected to ATT customer service. The person I spoke to in ATT customer service looked up both of my order numbers and neither of them existed. He had to do the entire process over for me and I got confirmation texts and emails from ATT. I am a bit confused though because they had the exact same information, he could see the new address I was moving services to, and that I was getting said internet for $80/month with promotions. He also gave me 2 months free for the inconvenience of things not going through properly. After I got off the phone, I started to become suspicious of the first person I spoke with and called into ATT customer service again to ask if they worked with saraplus.com as a third party seller because I was concerned I was just scammed. They also verified my new address without me giving it and verified the changes I had made but said several times that they wouldnt have asked me for my credit card information. Now I am trying to figure out if i need to request a new credit card and report the information as stolen as well as set up credit monitoring on my ssn and credit.

Neither att-promotions.com or saraplus.com is a site operated by AT&T.  They may be "legitimate" resellers.  They could be scam artists.  Any credit card that you gave them you should keep a very close eye on, if not just cancel immediately.

Search engines don't vet all the links they present you.
