What to do with old Microcells?

Since they are essentially useless and I'm not the scamming type to try and sell them to some unsuspecting poor soul on fleabay as a "4g booster"......I made some art!

The soldier is a nice touch. 😂

Any place that recycles Electronics will take them. There maybe chips or something inside them that can be scavenged.

😁 Yeah, I like the soldier too. As @formerlyknownas mentioned. Just take them to your local electronics recycle center. They aren't worth anything now even tho there are still quite a few for sale on eBay. I think you have a career as an "artist" 😁.

Looks like a little surgery was performed on the DPH-154.

The soldier literally fell out of the wall yesterday during some remodling, they broke open a wall to fit a new drain pipe. This is an old building. He just fell out of the wall.

I modified my 154 to take an external antenna since those didn't have one. I put these in the server closet and hence there is no "window" for it to look out of for the GPS and I didn't want to junk up my office with a device sitting in a window sill with cords running to it. So i figured out where to drill since you can't take it apart without disturbing the anti-tamper pins and removed the internal antenna from the main board and connected an external antenna to it.

I thought I was the only person to do something like that 😉. I take it you got it to work well. Nice job.

Lol, I turned mine in at the local recycling center. They have a dumpster just for e-waste...

I looked into the bin after chucking my old deactivated MCell in, expecting to see more of them?

Nope, mine was the only one in there. It seems that the original wasn't a big seller here in my region. For the longest time, when you opened the cellular map in the SpeedTest app, my immediate area pins my house with the only "green" spot on the grid, indicating 3g service. The rest of the area was "dark".

Now it's "blue" indicating the only 4gLTE AT&T service area for blocks around. Just a funny anecdote for all. ^.^
