@HGBBH  Are you asking to change the name of the Cell Booster or the physical location of the Cell Booster? Changes are made in your profile which you access thru the Cell Booster mobile app.

I'm moving this to the Cell Booster forum where it belongs.

I specifically used "location" because the question refers to the nickname of the LOCATION. NOT to the name of the "booster". You are incorrect if you are saying that such modifications as the one I am asking about can be changed in one's profile in the Booster App.  They cannot.  Nor can they be made on the ATT website. If that was the case, I would not have posed my question in the first place.

Does anyone have an answer to this question? It seems like a straightforward fix for ATT to be able to accomplish.

Thanks.

Hello @HGBBH, we'd love to help you with re-naming your AT&T Cell Booster device.

Be advised, you'll need to access the Cell Booster app and follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, select the desired Cell Booster then select Edit.
  2. Edit the device name as desired, then select Save.

Once saved, you'll then be able to see your new name populate for your device.

We hope this information helps and thanks for contacting the AT&T Community for assistance.

Thank you for reaching back out to us HGBBH!

You should be able to select your desired location from your Home page>Add a location on your AT&T Cell booster app, as seen on the management website article. To add a location, click on the + sign under my location on the top left corner of the app/portal

- Fill out the following fields then click Next once all fields are filled out:

      • Address 1
      • Address 2; if needed
      • City, State, Zip Code
      • Location, Nickname; customer chooses
  • To move a device to another location, you'll need to disconnect the device at your current location.

Disconnect AT&T Cell Booster/Cell Booster Pro

  1. From the Home Page, scroll down to see a red Disconnect button
  2. Once clicked, a message will appear : Are You Sure - click Yes to continue the disconnect. Cell Booster Disconnected will appear on a new screen.
  3. You can also click Cancel, if you decide not to disconnect the device.

Then, select the location where you want to move your Cell Booster/Cell Booster Pro and click on the + sign to add the new location. Follow the instructions to add a location above.

Let us know if this helps! Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums!

I appreciate your response.  So the answer is: "You cannot change the nickname UNLESS you signout and make pretend you are changing the location when in fact your are NOT changing the location."  It is too bad ATT does not enable one to change the nickname of the location WITHOUT removing the devices and re-signing in as if these are new devices at a NEW location.  How silly.

@HGBBH  No need to get unruly. So, you want to change the name under My Locations from Home to something else? You can change the name of the Cell Booster to whatever you want (maybe a specific location) but I don't believe you change Home to something else.

Home will always be the default Location Name for wherever the Cell Booster is registered. I don't remember if you have the option to change the Location Name of Home to something else when you register/activate the Cell Booster.

For anyone interested:

When one begins the cell booster set up, there is no default "nickname" for the location of your booster service.  It is not "home".  It is blank and the user must create a "nickname for the location" of such service.  This is a separate matter from selecting a name for a specific cell booster tower at said location.

Changing an already specified name of "location of service" requires deleting all cell booster towers at that location. You then essentially start all over: first deleting and changing (or keeping) the name of location; second, re-registering and (re-)naming each cell booster.

Hope this is helpful.
