Femtocell Issue

We recently had to replace our network adapter. Now everything works except the femtocell. It does not recognize the network (or vise versa). AT&T says it’s working on their end. Any advice is appreciated.

The Cell Booster works best if it has a direct connection to your router with nothing in-between.

Can you explain your setup is a little more detail?

Have you power cycled your entire system?

Have you Reset the Cell Booster?

Thanks. The booster is directly into the router as it was before. What has changed is that we are using an external network adapter that is in between the router and the computer. The internal adapter did not work at all after a storm. Internet works fine now but no booster.

If the Cell Booster has a direct WAN to LAN connection to your router then the adapter between the router and the computer shouldn't make a difference unless both are connected to the adapter.

Do you have a separate router and modem or is it a gateway?

Remove the adapter and computer and just connect the Cell Booster to your router and see what happens.

Did the Cell Booster ever work?

What kind of internet service do you have?

What about power cycling and reset, as I asked before?

What does the light pattern look like on the Cell Booster?

gps- none

have cycled several times

internet service is windstream

I did take the new adapter out but it didn’t make a difference

It's possible that whatever fried your adapter (loss of power from a storm) may have damaged the Cell Booster, especially if you've removed the adapter and it's just CB to router.

What kind of service do you have from Windstream, cable or fiber? What are your speeds?

Have you tried a different LAN port on the gateway? I'm assuming Windstream supplied you with a gateway (router/modem combo).

Have you Reset the CB following the instructions in my Cell Booster Tech Guide (link is in my sig line)? There is a Reset button on the back.

Is the GPS antenna still firmly in place and on a window or window sill?

I agree with your first paragraph even though We called AT&T and they ran some remote test and said all was okay.

windstream is cable (we’re in the woods). Im not sure of the speed.

Tried different ports with the same results.

gps is still attached in the same spot it’s been for over a year.

will try your reset guide in the morning.

Cable or DSL? Speed is important, especially if Windstream dropped your speeds for whatever reason.

If the Cell Booster did get damaged due to a power outage/surge, they can't be repaired so you'll need to purchase a new one, or look to WiFi-C (WiFi Calling) for better in-home coverage.
