Cell booster

Actually you're technically incorrect...  The Microcell device is 4G and built by Cisco.  The Service provided by ATT was 3g.  So if 3G was being sunsetted ATT could've still provided the service in 4G.  They sent me a 4g Cell Booster that didn't work, couldn't use my phone at home.

@GDBLU  Say what? The MicroCell was always a 3G device. Your phone may have indicated 4G but that was just how your phone interpreted AT&T's 3G signal. The MicroCell would never work with AT&T's LTE, period.

The Cell Booster is an LTE device that will work with any AT&T phone that meets AT&T's post-3G cellular requirements.

Well go tell Cisco that they lied...  The "Service" was only 3G, the device was 4G.

@GDBLU  I've taken apart many AT&T MicroCell's, and researched the chipsets inside on the DPH-151, the DPH-153, and the DPH-154 and they are essentially the same. There is no way that AT&T could have pushed a firmware upgrade to make them truly 4G/LTE compatible, and not HSPA+ which was 3G but AT&T called it 4G.

🤦🏼‍♀️.

Do not presume to know more than the man who wrote the tech guide.  And you don't understand At&t network or the shut off either.

The dph-154 was a 3g voice device.

It supported 3g, and 4g/lte handsets, but was 3g for voice calls.

3G technology includes all versions of: W-cdma, CDMA, HSPA, UTMAS

AT&T 3g/hspa and 4g/hspa + network was shut off starting in February.  There is no more 3g or 4g.

This ↖️⬆️↗️

Was At&t 3G.

The network AT&T still provides:

4G/LTE, LTE, LTE+, 5Ge, 5G, 5G+

@TeresaGrant  It may look the same, and have the same basic components, but it is "custom built" to work exclusively on AT&T's network with extra security features. Just like Cisco's femtocell was which AT&T called the MicroCell. Both were given away initially.

Couldn't make it work, even with ATT assistance.  Bought a cell signal booster for 700mhz channels 12 and 17.  5 bars and no hassle setup.  Only $58 came with antenna and cable.  Had a booster previously to the micro cell.  Hooked up previous cable and away I went!

@GDBLU  AT&T assistance is always "dice shoot" 😉. Cellular Boosters are an option as discussed in my Cellular Booster Tech Guide, link is in my sig line. Not to be confused with my Cell Booster Tech Guid. At least you're up and running.
