Cell Booster

Do you know when more of the new cell booster will be in because it looks like you only go 5 in?

@kimtjordan  AT&T is in the process of building up their inventory after the free Cell Boosters inventory was depleted due to demand exceeding supply. When the inventory is replenished they will go on sale. Probably in a couple of more weeks. They will probably go on sale online first so check back.

So they will not be free to AT&T customers?  Not our fault you ran out.

@kimtjordan  To be clear, I am not an employee of AT&T in any shape or manner. Read my sig line. I am just a customer like yourself who happens to have LOTS of experience with AT&T's femtocells and took it upon myself to write Tech Guides for both, the MicroCell and the Cell Booster, because I was frustrated with the lack of real help and knowledge from Support.

The Cell Boosters were free to most MicroCell customers who had current and active accounts. Those were sent out automatically to the existing active customer base. The information used was based on the phone number, physical address of the MicroCell when registered (and for billing), and activity. Not everyone was captured so AT&T sent out a second email with the broken weblink asking if those individuals still needed a Cell Booster and if so, order one thru the weblink. The weblink was an unmitigated disaster because only handful of individuals were able to get thru and those that did, got the remaining few that were allocated for the free program. The same thing happened when the MicroCell was first introduced, only AT&T didn't do a second emailing after the initial promotional campaign was over. However, as time went by, they did offer free MicroCells to some individuals who had a documented history of poor in-home coverage. With the Cell Booster, the fact that you had a MicroCell that was still registered and active, indicates to me at least, that you have documentation of poor in-home coverage. What I'm hoping is that AT&T will revisit that and later on, on a case by case basis, send out free Cell Boosters to those who basically got $crewed because of the broken weblink.

Due to supply chain issues with Nokia and distribution, AT&T is building its inventory back up for sales but it's taking longer than expected. Once that happens, there should be enough in stock that AT&T may consider free Cell Boosters for those that can show they received the second email but couldn't get thru. That's not official but something that I am hoping will happen and something that I am pushing my contacts within AT&T on. But I'm only a customer like you so who knows if they will even consider my suggestions.
