Cell Booster and Cell Booster Pro Updates
As most of you know by now, the new Cell Booster is out in the wild. AT&T has seeded the Cell Booster to most, if not all, existing MicroCell customers with active accounts. The Cell Booster will go on sale soon for $229 and the Cell Booster Pro for $669. The Cell Booster is primarily intended for improving cellular service (voice) in-home and the Cell Booster Pro is intended for first responders (FirstNet) and businesses.
The Cell Booster is not to be confused with a cellular booster. It is still a femtocell like the MicroCell. AT&T chose to call it a Cell Booster mainly for product recognition. Most folks have a working knowledge of what a cellular booster is but haven't a clue what a femtocell is.
There were, and still are, connectivity issues with the Cell Booster during its initial rollout but they are slowly getting fixed. Support is doing all that they can but just don't have all of the information they need at this point in time.
The Cell Booster is very similar in its operation to the MicroCell. But the major change is that it is now an open system. In other words, there is no way to limit access to your Cell Booster like you could with the MicroCell. Any AT&T phone can have access if it is within range. Which, in my estimation is a big no bueno.
I will be updating, and posting, my MicroCell Technical Guide (link in my sig line), to be renamed, with all the new information relevant to the Cell Booster in the next couple of weeks. AT&T will also be renaming this forum to reflect the Cell Booster.
In the meantime, myself and the other ACE's will do what we can to answer any questions and offer help, along with Support. This is similar to the MicroCell but a whole new approach to improving in-home reception so there is still a lot to learn and confirm.

We have tried unsuccessfully for 3 weeks to get the cell booster connected. They sent a tech out with new modem thinking it was a modem issue but it still will not work. All the lights are yellow even when we unplug and plug back in. The reset button does nothing. What can we try next?

@4cougarsrus I answered you in you other post so I'll ask you here again. Please explain your setup, who your ISP is, and the speeds. Oh, and it would be a good idea to keep your questions to one post. That makes it easier for me to respond and for others to read and search as well.

@AdviserScott AT&T will be offering the Cell Booster Pro, which is intended for Enterprise and First Responders (FirstNet), as I mentioned above in the initial post. The Cell Booster (for in-home use) should work with FirstNet customers as well but that is a good question that I'll have to look into.
If you were/are a FirstNet customer already, you might have received an email for a free one. I know some customers did a month ago. If not, you might still qualify if you contact AT&T. That being said, finding a CS agent who knows anything at all about FirstNet, let alone the Cell Booster Pro, may be challenging.

@OttoPylot, thank you very much! Our organization is a FN customer, in goof standing :-) We did not receive any offers, paid or otherwise :-(
I only need one of these units as I am the only one who has poor cell service at my residence, though no issue at the office.

@AdviserScott The emails were sent to First Responders who were FirstNet customers so if your organization is not a "First Responder" maybe that's the reason.

We are deemed a first-responder organization :-) Honestly, I don't care if I have to pay for it, I just need to get a device that will allow me consistent voice calls as wifi calling is not a great option.

@AdviserScott When they go on sale, the Cell Booster will be $229 and the Cell Booster Pro will be $669. The differences are detailed in my Tech Guide, link is in my sig line.

The last I heard it was supposed to be around mid-March for the Cell Boosters and I suspect that the Pro version will be available around that time if not a little later on. AT&T is still trying to get the kinks out of registering/activating the Cell Booster as well as getting all of the service areas up and running so there's still some growing pains yet to come.
