Problems Creating new DirectTV Now Account for HBO GO via Unlimited Data Benefit
I am having problems creating a Direct TV Now account to gain access to my HBO GO benefit from my Unlimited data plan.
I recently signed up to the premium unlimited subscription for my family's mobile data. I can get access to some HBO content through the ATT Watch site so I know my HBO selection is working. I need the I've had no luck following the instructions provided on the AT&T site for users without any exiting video services (e.g. direct tv) to gain access to HBO GO. I started with instructions on a couple ATT sites (https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/wireless/KM1261921?gsi=L7EWDKQ and https://www.att.com/plans/unlimited-data-plans-plus-v2.html) that eventually take me https://www.att.com/plans/unlimited-data-plans-plus-v2/dtv-now-new-customers.html . Seems straight forward but the problem is the instructions say "Select Verify Mobile Number" button but this does NOT EXIST on the Direct TV page that is in the link. There is a verify number button that takes you down a path of trying to actually sign up for a discount which I went as far as creating an account and stopped at actually signing up for any service. The account I created appears to be an incomplete account because I can't use it to log into HBO GO (trying to login it says I don't have access to HBO GO through my direct tv account). Some folks have suggested signing up and then cancelling but I'm not going down this route.
I'm suspecting that the instructions are outdated and the site has changed but there has to be a way to create an account that is linked with my mobile number without having to sign up for some Direct TV service.
Anyone else having this problem?
