SBCGLOBAL email missing with no access

I have had SBCGLOBAL.NET as an email for over 20 years. I know they were bought out and are now owned by Yahoo/ATT, but why is it that they took our access to our email away??  I have my log in and my password, I know them to be correct. Can anyone please help me access my email again so I can put it on my new phone and also my laptop. I have been on live chat help with Apple. I have been on live chat help with ATT. I have changed my password and tried to log into the new page on Google. It just keeps saying that my information is not correct, which it is, and then it locks me out after several tries. This should not be happening. I have important information in that email and I need access to it.

Thanks so much!!
Kimberly

We can help you with your email, .

We understand that you are trying to setup your email on your phone and new laptop. We also see that you are able to change your password, which is always the first step in recovering your email access. Since that is done, there is one last step that needs to be completed before you can reset your email back up and that is to create a secure mail key.

What is a Secure Mail Key? It is a 16-character one-time password used in email applications in lieu of an OAuth flow. So please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Profile and choose Sign-in info.
  2. Select the email account that needs a secure mail key. (You’ll find a menu at the top if you have multiple accounts.)
  3. Scroll to Secure mail key and select Manage secure mail key.
  4. Choose the email address that you’d like to use, if you have more than one.
  5. Select Add secure mail key and then enter a nickname for the secure mail key to make it easier to recognize.
  6. Choose Create secure mail key.
  7. Select Copy secure mail key to clipboard. Make a note of your secure mail key, so you have it handy if you need to update an email app on several devices.
    • For security purposes, the secure mail key only displays until you select OK
    • If you lose or forget the secure mail key, you can create new secure mail keys.
  8. Select OK.
  9. Go to your preferred email app and replace the existing password with your secure mail key. For an IMAP account, delete the existing password for both the IMAP and SMTP servers and replace them with your secure mail key.

If you are still getting the error, that your account information is not correct, can you please provide the error number, when you try to access your email account online, so can we can troubleshoot and drive this to a complete resolution?

We do look forward to hearing from you soon.

The same is now happening to me,as of 3 days ago.  I have only e-mail account, no other AT&T products. No help from At&T store or so called technical help, Spend over 4 hours on this issue, and finally decided to advise  all my contacts to use another e-mail. However, all my old stores (important) emails are apparently lost! AT&T is very bad company with respect to the customers service.
