Tired of the run around with prices and services! And increases out of nowhere....
Got my latest combined bill. Cell phone portion of bill is over $13 more than last month for two phones on an antiquated grandfathered in plan. Loyalty Dept. couldn't explain why bill has gone up - said that is just the price now but will credit my bill "this time" for the overage because I wasn't notified about the increase but that will be the price moving forward - over $120 for a 12 mb shared plan with 2 phones a month and WITH a $40 monthly discount. But being we have combined bill and all the services on it are screwed up on different billing dates, I won't even see the credit for it on this bill. So I am just postponing the inevitable and the credit right now is a joke. Why did our bill just go up AGAIN?!?!?! Should we just go with TMobile or some other carrier at this point. Was told via chat what we have the cheapest they even offer.

No one here can see your bill to explain the increase. All of your wireless charges should be listed, compare them to the last bill to see what changed. There have been no recent price increases on grandfathered plans to my knowledge.

That sounds like a total, not one of the individual charges. You should have a charge for the data plan and an individual charge for each line. If there was a price increase, there should have been a notification in a previous bill in the “news you can use” section.

Ok under my phone info - the monthly service went from $97 to $109. Each line is discounted $20. The 2nd cell line stayed the same at $40. This increase caused the taxes/fees in my section to go up a bit too.
No news you can use section on the previous bill. What is going on?
PS On the latest bill I have this message:
RATE CHANGE
The monthly rate for the Cost Assessment Charge will increase from $0.17 to $0.22
on or after 4/1/2023. If you have any questions or to learn more about our
money-savings services, please visit us at att.com or call 800.288.2020.
I am notified of a 5 cent future increase but not $12?

I was on the 10 cent a minute plan for several years. Out of the blue it changed to 35 cents. thats a 350% increase. Said they sent me texts. But I told them long ago take the texts off my phone, I don't use them and I'm not paying for these stupid political advertising that I am not reading but being charged for. So if they took the text off and they did it why are they sending me or attempting to send me a text that I can't read? I asked them why didn't they send me an email or snail mail? Said they only do texts. Asked them if you removed the text feature from my phone and told me that anyone sending a text would get a failed to send notice, wouldn't that also show up on their side so therefore this supposed text they sent me regarding these increases was never received! 35 cents a minute. Ridiculous. Once my minutes run out I am looking for someone else. The good thing is I can pay for just one dollar yes one dollar at a time for a month (really 30 days). Since I rarely use the phone one dollar lasts me more than a month. I think I can get unlimited from T Mobile for $10 a month, might be my next plan. And taxes. That one dollar costs me $1.54.

Hi catlady09, we understand the importance of getting notified regarding your plan increase. We are here to look into this for you!
Prices increased on select retired Mobile Share Classic, Value, Flex, and Data only Business plans. The new prices will reflect starting on customers' February 2023 bill. Customers will receive bill notifications starting January 2023 - aligned with their billing cycle.
Price increase applies to the monthly Plan Charge (SDG) only. The Device Access Charge (SDF) is not impacted.
What customers can expect?
We recommend checking your email including your spam/junk folder for an email from us or checking your text messages from all the numbers on your account for the notification.
If you need additional help, we are here. Please let us know!

Sadly, never got a text about this, never saw note about it on the January bill (have been paying online and not checking bill when prices are supposed to be the same - will have to look up Jan bill online to see if there was a note), and I -never- receive emails from ATT. Have given ATT reps a gmail email 100 times over the years that I wish to be contacted on - but they say they can only send the email to the one that goes with the dsl account - the email that we DO NOT ever check and have repeatedly shared this with reps when asked where to email me. Tired of the increases for antiquated plans and products and the way ATT tries to push people off grandfathered plans by increasing their prices with no warning and making what you get not worth what you are paying any longer. Will have to start looking elsewhere. Thank you for the reply, but this is truly such a slap in the face money grab from ATT!

@catlady09
When was the last time you read your bill? There were $12 increases many months ago on the mobile mobile share advantage plan. (Like over a year ago)
And in February there would have been an increase in TV or internet service price. My annual increase also came through in February.
if you have combined billing that might be what went up.
Pull up last month's bill and then a bill from a few months ago

1. The original poster started this thread today which has nothing to do with your pay per use prepaid service and yet you have tried to hijack the thread for your own purposes rather than make your own new thread which is what you should have done. It's just a wee bit rude.
2. We know that emails were sent to people with the pay per use plans because other people posted their email here on the forum. You might want to check your prepaid plan to make sure your email was current. Or you might want to check to see if maybe the email is in a spam folder.
