Scammed

Att: we will give you $700 for your phone

me: deal here is the phone

me: man I really like this new iPhone 12 Pro max

me also: pays bill and believes everything’s ok

after a month and after paying all the fees, I felt I held up my end of the bargain.

Att: we only giving you 350 for your phone

me: I want my phone back, that deal isn’t fair and since att changed the price I would like to not sell it to you for 350.

Att: too bad, we don’t send phones back and 350 is all you are getting

Me: this sounds like a scam I’ll be at the Abilene courthouse on Monday.

am I wrong? Or is the trip on Monday necessary? I’m ok with being wrong but I’ve never made deals  that allowed one party to change conditions without consent and to change the price to boot

What phone did you trade in? There is a list of phones eligible for the $700 credit. The traded in phone must be on that lost and worth at least $95. Not sure what you think the Abilene courthouse can or will do.

You won’t get your phone back, that just isn’t going to happen. The 3rd party that handles the trade ins has issues, one of them being undervaluing the trade in. If you are sure the trade was worth $95, file a BBB complaint. Someone from corporate will contact you. Unfortunately, the store verifying the value means nothing as far as that 3rd party is concerned but it should help in getting resolution from corporate.

Att says it is worth more than 95 in my text message

No, actually they are telling you just the opposite. By saying it only qualifies for $350 in credits, they are telling you it was valued at less than $95.

Small claims is not going to get your phone back. If you did read the terms of the trade in deal it specifically states once the phone is sent in you will not get it back.

I’m sorry I came here

Why? I gave you a way to resolve your issue and get the $700 credit. Are you upset because I told you getting the phone back won’t happen? Sorry but just being honest. Go ahead with small claims, if you want.
