Returned my device but ATT does not give me my refund!!!

I asked ATT customer service for a refund for a device with a technical issue. Although it was outside of the return period, they agreed to send me a shipping label (no conditions or warnings whatsoever).

It's 40 days that I have returned the device and now ATT says they won't refund me because the return period has been passed!!! Now I have lost both my money and my device!!! If they didn't want to refund me why did they send me a shipping label in the first place then?!!!!! 

Is there a way that I get my money back?! Where can I complain besides ATT itself?!

They never should have offered a refund after the return date had passed. They should have informed you how to make a warranty claim to replace the device.

ATT has the notations of my call to customer service that I asked for a refund and they agreed and sent me a shipping label. Yet ATT neither refund me nor do they send me back my device!

So at&t took my ~$1,500 phone and refuses to give me back neither my phone nor my money!!! I'm just a student and this is a lot of money for me to forget. I will take my complaint to anywhere that it takes to get back my money! This way of treating a 10 year customer is disgraceful! I'll switch my wireless plan to another provider soon.
