Raping people for their money

I have had AT&T for about 10 years and I can completely disgusted with the way they over charge people. All the hidden fees and (Edited per community guidelines) makes no sense. Not to mention I get the nurses discount and still pay over $400 a month is outrageous. Customer service (Edited per community guidelines) and half of them don’t understand English so it makes it even harder. I am completely frustrated and  fed up ! I couldn’t get a payment extension on a bill I just found out was $399.08 2 days ago. I paid $700 last month to turn around and pay $400 this month, it’s ridiculous! For a single mother with kids who needs phones to stay in contact with me AT&T is not for the single hard working mothers who are barely surviving as it is in this economy. They used to be so understanding and affordable … now they are (Edited per community guidelines)ST who don’t give two (Edited per community guidelines)s about their customers. DO NOT SWITCH TO THEM AND IF YOU CAN LEAVE !

Customers are in control of what they buy, what they pay for, and what's on the bill. Unless you are in implying that AT&T has charged you for something they aren't allowed to charge, or that you did not purchase or use, then this is an  inflammatory statement, and just does not wash.

A $700 bill doesn't just happen.

FYI unless you're a single mother with six kids, each of them paying for a phone installment on a very expensive phone, there's no way your cell phone bill could be $400 a month.

Look at your bill! What plan are you on? Are there additional charges outside of what is included with you plan? Downloads? The bills are very detailed.

Four phone lines do not cost $400 a month.  You would have to be paying for four phones with installments of $50 each to hit $400 a month

With a nurse's discount applied even the most premium plan, pre-tax cost would be $150.

Just like other service providers that's the service cost. It does not include phones or insurance.

As already suggested - read your bill.

Clearly you are not aware of what's on it or you wouldn't be paying $400, and it wouldn't have gotten to $700 last month.

@Westindiesbeauty

Based on your description of what your service is, that is not a normal bill.

What are the itemized charges? Look for one-time charges (downloads, overage, etc.), installment plan (paying for a phone over time), past due/late fees, etc. Compare to when the bill was lower and see what the exact difference is. If it still doesn't make sense either list the charges (no personal info of course) or call AT&T to go over your bill.

Before making accusations, get the facts. Not liking the amount of your bill doesn't mean AT&T is automatically in the wrong. Find out why the bill is high and see if it is a billing issue they need to resolve or if it might be something you misunderstood or something the other family members have been doing to increase the bill.

Get the facts, understand the bill, go from there on what to do.

4 lines of AT&T's currently most expensive Premium unlimited plan is $150 (after the 25% discount). You can save $7.50 per line per month by switching them to Starter.

To get the above, you need to pay with debit/checking and have paperless billing to save $10 per line (or else it's $10 more per month).

If you're financing 3 phones at $25 each per month, that's $75. FYI, that's also a choice, if you have money concerns, they don't all need $900 phones.  Some should be handed down or traded in for promos like "$800 with a trade-in".

There are also taxes and fees, which vary.

So to get it that high:

  • I'm going to guess you're also paying for insurance.
  • Maybe even paying for next up so people can upgrade more often (and spend even more) and you never get caught up with phone payments.

This is me guessing, you have an itemized PDF of your bill every month at att.com where you can look this up instead of having strangers speculate.
