Plan Change/Bill messed up?
Hello, I switched about a week ago to the Unlimited Extra plan from the older Unlimited Plus Multi-Line in a attempt to reduce my monthly bill. The site said my bill would be reduced by $40 per month for the 4 lines we have with our family. Just got the new bill and it is about $45 more than my previous bill. I looked through it line by line and it seems that the plan changed from $115 per month to $85 per month for the group, but each line increased in cost by $25 per line. I;m having a hard time figuring this out, and I called/"chatted" with customer service but cannot get a straight answer.
Also, there is an insurance charge on one of my lines that I have been trying to remove. Not even sure why it's on there, and probably has been for some time. Just noticed it.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Are you looking at your regular bill, or are you looking at the customer service summary, which is a projection that does not include any of the discounts? The new plan requires that you sign up for auto-pay and paperless billing. If you have not you are missing out on $10 per line discount for each phone
The math on the new bill will look something like
4 lines, 80+45+45+45+45-10-10-10-10-60 = $160
If you dont see the $10 per oine discount, its because you dont have auto pay and paperless billing

Agreed! Plus pricing is as such. $105+20+20+20+20=$185/$195 without AP/PB discounts. Compare this to the Extra plan as described below at $160/$200 without AP/PB discounts. The only way to see a decrease is if you have Autopay and paperless billing and the decrease is ~$25.
Both plans offer unlimited talk text and data in Canada and Mexico.
The Extra plan will earn you 5 additional GB hotspot per line. (15GB per line vs 10GB on Plus)
Extra earns you more high speed data. (High speed data is potentially slowed after 50GB on Extra vs 22GB on Plus)
If you have AT&T TV NOW service you will loose your video loyalty credit and free HBO by making this change over to Extra. Keep that in mind as the video loyalty credit is between $15 or $25 depending on when you signed up for AT&T TV NOW.
All in all I beleive this is still a good move. Even if you have AT&T TV NOW service there will be no net savings but an increase in total features and capability.
