If you use trade-in to get Iphone, can you later get another phone on the same line and still keep the credits?
So say I get the Iphone 14 with some trade-in, and I'll pay it back over 3 years w/ the credits from my trade in. Let's say in two years I outright buy an Iphone 16 from the Apple Store and use it on my line, and keep the AT&T locked Iphone 14 as a backup or something. Will I still be able to collect the credits until it's paid off? Or will me changing the phone mean that I have to pay off the entire phone at that time (and thus lose the credits)? I just want to make sure I'm not locked in with an Iphone 14 for 3 years if I don't want to give up the credits.

The only time you lose credits with the existing trade-in deal is if you upgrade your line through AT&T, cancel service, Port your phone number to a different service provider. You may keep your credits if you purchase from a third party without involving AT&T. (don't do Att upgrade through Apple)
You can even trade in the iPhone 14 to Apple directly for a lump sum credit and continue to receive Bill credits from AT&T for your previous Trading.
Always read the fine print which is online for every promotion. I would advise you save it, take screenshots with your phone. Each promotion is slightly different.

Hi! For this one, you can still get a new phone and still keep the credit but you can't apply another upgrade or trade in. You will purchase a new device in full.
