Disqualified From New Trade In Offer/Upgrade to Galaxy S23+ Due To Erroneous Accusation By ATT U-Verse

I had an outstanding balance when I cancelled ATT U-Verse a couple years ago that went to collections briefly until it was legally discharged in U.S. Bankruptcy court in October of 2022 when I was granted a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. I have the official discharge paperwork signed by Bankruptcy Court of Oklahoma, via Sarah Hall, the United States Bankruptcy Judge in charge of my case.

Due to this, ATT says I'm disqualified from the current $1000 trade in offer to upgrade my cell phone. I would very much appreciate it if ATT could acknowledge this and clear my credit account on file so I can utilize the trade in deal.

I'm pretty sure nobody on these customer-to-customer forums can fix this you, especially since you posted this in the Internet forum.

So I'm moving this thread to the Wireless forum and maybe some of the great ACEs over there can at least give you some comments.

Bankruptcy settlement means AT&T got Pennies on the dollar. They may not be allowed to get you for U-verse debt anymore, but that doesn't mean they don't have you as a bad credit risk.   Therefore can deny any sort of service and equipment on credit or deals.

You can Google how bankruptcy affects credit. Other carriers will look at your credit rating to determine their willingness to advance you credit for a new phone.
