Displeasure Regarding Unauthorized Charges for International Roaming

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the recent billing issue I have encountered with AT&T. As an AT&T customer, I have always trusted the quality of services provided by your company. However, I find myself facing an incredibly alarming situation that necessitates immediate attention and resolution.

I want to make it absolutely clear that I did not use international roaming services during my recent trip to Japan. In fact, when I received a notification from AT&T regarding international roaming, I explicitly declined and rejected any offers related to it. I made a conscious decision to refuse any cost-incurring roaming plans, as they were not suitable for my needs. It is therefore absurd and deceptive for AT&T to claim that I refused their "cost-effective" international roaming service while still charging me exorbitant fees. If I had used international roaming, it would have cost me a mere $10. Yet, AT&T persists in its preposterous and fraudulent assertion.

I am deeply disturbed by AT&T's complete lack of understanding and refusal to acknowledge the factual circumstances. I have clearly explained that I did not use international roaming while in Japan, yet AT&T dismisses my explanations without any attempt to comprehend the situation. This level of disregard for customer concerns is both outrageous and unacceptable.

I demand an immediate investigation into this matter and a swift resolution. It is imperative that AT&T recognizes the error in its claims and refunds the unauthorized charges that have been applied to my account. The evidence I have attached, including my travel itinerary and a detailed record of my phone usage during the trip, unequivocally proves that I did not engage in any international roaming activity while in Japan. I trust that these documents will serve as undeniable proof of my innocence and prompt AT&T to rectify this issue without further delay.

Furthermore, I expect a comprehensive explanation from AT&T regarding the circumstances that led to this erroneous billing. It is essential that AT&T takes this matter seriously, conducts a thorough investigation, identifies the root cause of the problem, and implements measures to prevent such instances from recurring in the future. Customer trust and satisfaction should be paramount for AT&T, and this incident has severely shaken my confidence in the company.

I request a prompt response to this matter, acknowledging the gravity of the situation and outlining the steps being taken to address it.
It is my hope that AT&T will demonstrate its commitment to customer satisfaction by swiftly resolving this matter and restoring my faith in your company.

Thank you for your immediate attention to this issue. I trust that AT&T will rectify this issue and provide a satisfactory resolution. I anticipate a prompt response.

This is a customer populated forum not AT&T billing. If you used your phone in Japan without the day pass you pay per use which is expensive.

You would have received that notification once you started international roaming.

a detailed record of my phone usage during the trip, unequivocally proves that I did not engage in any international roaming activity while in Japan

What "detailed record" do you have that's different from the one AT&T provided with your bill? Are you claiming the phone calls/texts/data usage AT&T is showing is completely fabricated out of thing air?

In fact, when I received a notification from AT&T regarding international roaming, I explicitly declined and rejected any offers related to it.

You received that notification because you connected to towers in Japan. AT&T doesn't even know you're outside of the USA until you connect to a foreign Tower.

Your alternative was either keep your phone in airplane mode or turn it off, pay for a reduced price roaming plan which was the notification you got for international day pass, or pay for the extremely high pay per use rates: $3 per minute for phone calls, 50 cents per text message $1.30 per multimedia message and $2.05 per megabyte for data.

Since you refused international day pass, you would have been charged those pay for use rates. Those are valid charges. It is your fault for not keeping your phone in airplane mode or turning it off

You're roaming usage should appear on your following AT&T bill.  You might want to wait for that to come in before you dispute charges.
