Combining Two Accounts Into One
My husband and I have been trying for over a year to combine our two personal accounts into one account. Not only will this help lower costs, but it will be easier to manage just one account instead of two. Our accounts are two different billing cycles so they claim they cannot combine them. The customer service we have received has been AWFUL and no one can seem to help us. We have spent many hours in stores with no progress.
We are going to change providers, but I thought I would reach out here for one last effort to combine our accounts. Our experience with AT&T has been the absolute worst, and we do not recommend anyone use their service.

They told you correct.
Not only that, if one of them is extremely old and billed in arrears, that account cannot accept a new line.
This means that a transfer of billing responsibility is not possible. It's too bad AT&T didn't think outside the box...
If the cost of the newer plan is desirable, the person on the old plan can migrate their number to AT&T prepaid in a Corp store. Then migrate back to AT&T postpaid toward the end of the 30 days.
They will have to pay off a phone in order to migrate if they are still paying it on installments.
When migrating from prepaid into postpaid they will only pay for the number of days in service on the postpaid account, there are no activation fees for switching back and forth internally within AT&T.

Let's meet in a Direct Message to discuss TOBR. Please check your Direct Message inbox (it's the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the forums).
In the meantime, You can perform a Transfer of Billing Responsibility.
Looking forward to speaking with you soon.
