cancel the contract

hi, i've been using at&t from january, 2023. My username is Banseok Cho and the phone nummber is (personal information scrubbed). Even though I left the United States, the cost for my phone continues to be charged. I thought the contract would be done in August, but i was mistaken. I've tried to terminate it on the phone, but i can't access to the page because i'm not in the U.S. Can I get a refund for the cost of August and break the contract from now on?

What kind of “contract” are you talking about?  Are you talking about for service?  Prepaid set up with autopay?

We understand the importance of helping you figure out how to cancel service, @ Banseok.

You can contact our AT&T wireless team by calling the below-mentioned number to make the necessary changes.

Call +1.314.925.6925 at no charge from your AT&T Wireless phone.

Unfortunately, there is no waiver for Prepaid Services.

Please share the results with us.

Thanks for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums!

Prepaid service is not a contract. Neither is postpaid service. It's often referred to as a subscription which you can cancel.

You should have turned off auto pay before you left the United States. You would now find it very difficult to log into your prepaid account but you may be able to do so with a US VPN.  You would have to be using the AT&T SIM to receive two-factor authentication codes via Wi-Fi calling

If none of this is possible, you would have to call and ask AT&T to turn off the auto pay switch for you. They would require you to authenticate that the account is yours.

If you are unable to reach AT&T by phone, the only other option is to cancel the related method of payment that is being used to refill your prepaid service

Prepaid service does not refund. It was up to you to make arrangements to terminate service before you left.
