Billing ATT
I only used 4 days of service of a month with ATT as I switched to T-Mobile. They issued a bill for a month of service. I was told thru a chat that is how they do it and then when they want at their pace, they send u a check for what they think you should get back. I do not like this because I pay by Credit card. All other vendors credit back to the card. And checks can get stolen. So I decided to pay only a little a bit more than half what I usually paid for a month. They sent the collectors on me and keep sending me reminders with penalty feed. They know I switched. They know they are not entitled to a full month. And you cannot even contact them by email. Their chat waits are horrendous. Will they stop harassing me at some point? I should be the one urging for my money back.

AT&T does not pro-rate your final bill unless you live in California, Illinois, NY or Maryland. It is stated in the Terms of Service.
You are not due a refund and if you don't pay the final bill, it will be sent to collections.

Just pay the bill. The agreement when you signed up with AT&t, and the agreement you just signed up with when you switched to T-Mobile is a month to month agreement, which means if you go even one day into a new bill cycle you pay for the full month. Month. It's universal and it's always been this way. The only exception is Google Fi.
I don't know if you ever plan on renting an apartment or buying a car or getting a new credit card, but you can kiss that sucker. Goodbye. You mess around with a service provider for cable TV or cellular service and you can watch your credit drop 200 points. It's not worth it. And as I wrote, you signed an agreement saying that you would pay for the full months service when you leave.

I was told on the ATT Chat that ATT actually refunds for days non used as do other mobile vendors. I would really have clarity on this. I would have thought that the person working for ATT who told me so would know.

Chat is wrong and most other providers have the same policy, ie: no pro-rating unless required by law.
AT&T might be a big donor but the policy is in the LEGALLY BINDING Terms of Service.

Thank you for responding. I could not find the contract which I agreed to on the phone back then. I was doing(paying what I thought was more than was needed) because of the information I was given from an ATT staffer on the ATT chat. So if you cannot trust ATT staffer on the chat and have to rely on non ATT volunteers, ATT is in trouble really. The staffer had actually told me that the accounting Dept is somehow disconnected and it takes time for them. Excerpt from the chat
ATT 'after final bill you will get the credit check for the unused services.'
ME 'I get a credit will the credit be money back on my credit card?
ATT ;The credit check will be set you to your mailing address after the final bill payment done . the credit check will be send you with in 45 working days'

Regardless of the reason or whether you or we terminate your AT&T Services:

Thank you Ajagoda, So far with T-Mobile, the customer service has been great. I pay less for more service. I can also talk to people without having to wait for hours like ATT.
