Being charged for a phone I never ordered

I don’t know exactly how many months I’ve been charged for a phone I never ordered or received when I was finally able to get ahold of someone from customer service they said they’d open a claim and almost immediately the claim was denied.

Service providers of any kind, would like us to review our bills for accuracy on a regular basis. If you have been paying the bill for months and months, you have asserted that the bill was not incorrect, and now you are saying it's been wrong for a long time. 

If you would like to continue with a formal dispute process you can do so by filing a Better Business Bureau complaint online. The complaint is forwarded to AT&T upper management and they will contact you. You should be aware they may only be willing to remove the charges 3 months in arrears and stop any future charges.  (assuming the phone is indeed not yours) 

If the phone is on a line that you do not have, or I'm not using, suspense service. You can also request that they Blacklist the phone in hopes that whoever is using it will complain.

Be patient and persistent! Don't lose sleep over it, just keep calling (go hands free and work on something else at the same time or on holds) and asking for the manager eventually you'll probably find a real human. For sure file with BBB (it's not that hard, just a few online forms!) And maybe you'll get the right person to call you!
