@Gary L Right. Only the account owner can get the discount which means the account owner must be eligible for the military discount to get it. If the son is just a user on the account, they can not use his military service to get the discount. If the son takes over as account owner, then yes.

One must be active or retired military, or the spouse. Being parents of active military isn't on the list. The young man would have to be the account owner for the account to qualify.
"Qualified active duty military, reserves, national guard, veterans, and spouses of active duty and deceased service personnel can receive 15% off the monthly service charge on qualified plans"

We are lifetime customers who have 4 lines, directv, and Uverse internet service. So Yes, for the wireless phones we are trying to get his discount added to the account we are all authorized users on and we would like to upgrade to the Plus plan, so we can keep in touch better. Right now we only have the 6gb plan and he is having to suck through that within the first 2 weeks. We are in charge of it and we pay the bill. He pays his share when he can.
To put it all in his name is a ridiculous request. That would throw away our years of loyalty and it is asking us to jump through hoops to keep what we have already had. My wife is a special needs teacher and she has a 17% discount. We have Been getting that. We would be raising our bill dramatically and we are asking for the 15% Military discount because that is the only one that qualifies on the plus plan and it would help us greatly.

Sorry, but that's the way it works. Only the primary member is responsible for the bill and gets the discounts.
I'm not sure what you think you're getting for that years of loyalty, but it's not going to change your service if you put it in his name.
You can also get a lot more data than you're currently getting, without unlimited, and still pay less money.
If you want the $18 off of the Unlimited Plus, you going to have to change the primary account holders name.
