At&t rep lied about 25% off my phone plan during sign up.

Update. The promotion ended afew days after my purchase. I Eventually reached someone who could confirm it was a promotion and will be applied on later cycles. 

This is a case of most phone reps not knowing what's going on. The other reps told me I didn't have it and it could not be applied. Thus my contention. 

But it's finally been confirmed after 6 agents and multiple escalations. 

There’s a good chance that the store in question is an AUTHORIZED RESELLER.   They are independently owned & operated.  

Unfortunately they are known to either be deliriously clueless or intentionally deceitful.  AT&T will only honor deals & discounts published on the website.

Nah they are an official location. The law is very clear. The claim is already filed with the FTC and consumer protection Bureau. They need to change how they do business if they cannot keep thier affiliates accountable. Are you a company shill? Weird what do they pay you?

The requirement is to sign up for internet first. If you started your wireless account first, there is no wireless discount 

If the state can gather evidence of someone intentionally misrepresenting a product, the state may be able to bring fraud charges against the individual or business making inaccurate claims to potential customers or clients.

The packaging and pricing that I was led to belive would occur based on my engagement with this entity were not fulfilled.

Maybeeeee the tenured rep was unaware about how this promotion worked. Either way I want to break contract and I would lose to much value.   Ergo complaint  Ergo court. 

Trust me small claims is a rush and it's only 75$ between two fees to file. 

It’s your word against his. Was it in writing did you record the conversation? Was it advertised in the store or online? 

Even if that were the case I'd still feel justified to ask a judge if I can end the contract and we find a way to compensate the loss of my old phone when joining. 

I don't think that's an unreasonable or impossible request.  

There was nothing offered by the ATT phone rep. No way to walk away without extra fees and loss of turned in phone.

The phone rep didn’t have to offer you anything. Entitled? Sounds like you just didn’t read the TOS or promotional requirements. There is no contract. Just pay off your phone and go. 

There’s no contract; you can end service at any time. You will just have to pay for your phone. 

AT&T IS very clear that phones can’t be returned once traded in. 

You can file a BBB complaint to get escalated to office of the president. If there’s anyone who can give you anything extra, that’s who it would be. 

Cut out the fake legal stuff though. There’s a chance they could refuse to talk with you further if you start talking about courts.
