ATT doesn't deliver on it's promise. The Trade in Program is hoax ?
When I traded in my iPhone 10 64 gigs, I was promised a 800 in credit for a new iPhone 12. I solely got a new iPhone 12 as I was promised by the ATT representative in a store (and also cross checked on the website) a credit of 800. Since I have traded the phone in October, I have received credits of $11.66 on my nov and dec bill ( 11.67 for 30 months = $350) in credit instead of $26.67 that I was promised. I have spoken to ATT folks numerous times, accumulating in a total of 10 hours easily over the last 2 months but there is no fruition. In the last 2 weeks I have been speaking to supervisors, but they keep saying they can't help me and a CTU case was opened. But NOTHING. I know there are folks out there WHO HAVE TAKEN THIS ATT PROMOTION and traded in their old phone for credit. I have encouraged by friends to do it as well. I didn't know at the time I was going to have to fight it out and yet no help. Be extremely careful while taking this scheme. I can't get ATT's attention while I call them so trying it this way

If there was something wrong with your iPhone 10, and it valued at under $95 the credit given is 350 instead of 800.
If you believe there is some sort of an error you can contact AT&T about it.
Neither problem makes this a hoax, or fraud, it just means that your phone did not pass inspection for the minimum $95. It happens. Was there any sort of damage to the phone question burn in, dead pixel, chips, scratches, broken back, fingerprint sensor not working, and any other number of things that are required to pass the $95 value.

Hello @lizdance40 I appreciate your reply to my post. I would like to reply in 4 points
1. The phone was given ( traded in) and inspected by the ATT store rep who promised me the 800 bucks for my phone. My phone was in excellent condition while I traded it in. The only reason I traded in was because I was promised the credit, else there was nothing wrong with my phone. One or two wear and tear scratches which comes with use to any phone but you would have to see it extremely closely. No big scratches or chips or damaged screen etc. It was excellent. Like I said the ATT guy looked at it as well.
2. The trade in folks that I spoke with also confirmed the phone was traded in correctly and it was the ATT guy who took my phone's issue that he didn't put it in correctly.
3. Even if that was the case, I don't see anywhere in the promo material of ATT or the ATT guy even remotely mentioning that it will be evaluated later for a credit. I was *PROMISED* the entire 800 by the ATT rep
4. About your last sentence that if there is any sort of error "Contact ATT" about it. I have been in talk with them since 2 months and spoken to Loyalty, Billing, Trade In department and their supervisors for more than 10 hrs only in the last 2 weeks alone. There hasn't been any luck. They don't have any idea. I think between that they should have figured it out.
I would still stick to saying that it's HOAX until I get what I was promised

It doesn’t matter what anyone at the ATT store told you, the phone still must be valued at $95 or more by the trade in center to get the $800 credit. Whether or not that was the issue or somebody simply entered the trade in wrong, no way to know. Since you have had no luck calling, your best course of action to resolve is to escalate to corporate by filing an FCC or BBB complaint.

i am having the exact same experience right now. Traded in my iphone 8 256gb in great condition. ATT confirmed receipt of the device and that it was in good condition. Now theyre telling me theyre only giving me $300 instead of $800. Cases opened and shut by reps, no luck from managers/supervisors etc.

@sandblaster Can you please tell me more about FCC / BBB complaint? Does it involve a whole bunch of legal proceedings etc? As much as possible I want to stay away from it

There are no legal proceedings. You go to the FCC or BBB website and enter the complaint. The complaint gets forwarded to ATT corporate and someone from corporate will contact you.

At&t didn't promise you anything but what is written and published in the promotion on the website.
Just because a rep tells you something won't make it so if it's inspected and fails to pass.
Define 'hoax'? Because it must have a different meaning in your dictionary.
