AT&T Best Buy workers fall short on free iphone 11 mobile plan.

Hello.. My name is Dustin from the Southeast Texas area.  In Feb. of 2020, I went to Best Buy and added a second phone line under my existing account.  Best Buy offered us the "free iPhone 11 64gb" promotion through AT&T which after paying the first three months of the phone's bill would then kick into $20 per month credits for 30-months making the iphone 11 free.  When asked if I was interested,  I said "ABSOLUTELY!"  We signed the deal that day and was handed a shiny new iPhone 11.

Fast forward to present day, It is now October 2020 and the $20 credits still have not kicked in.  AT&T reps say there was no such deal available and Best Buy reps say to contact AT&T.  So now we are STUCK paying full price for an iPhone 11 we did not knowingly agree to pay for.  Is this considered THEFT?! It sure feels like it.

Is there any way for AT&T to honor this deal that was offered to my wife and I through Best Buy/AT&T businesses?

Appreciate all comments and suggestions on the matter.  Thank you!

Not if the deal didn’t exist. These free phone deals come and go all the time. It’s possible there was a deal but it had expired and the Best Buy employees didn’t know.  It’s also possible there was a deal and you didn’t satisfy all of the requirements. The first thing to figure out is if there was a deal at that time and what were the requirements. If there was a deal and you met all requirements, you can escalate to corporate by filing an FCC or BBB complaint.

First red flag,  the price of 64 gig iPhone 11 was and is more than $600, so a $20 credit would reduce the installment, not make it free.

Unlimited data has been  requirement for 18 months.  If you aren't on unlimited, you didn't qualify.

The only way to get answers is file a BBB complaint online.
