Unlock phone
I recently purchased a att phone I was told was unlocked . It's not and when I tried to unlock it I get a message saying to sign into my account ( never been att customer ) and pay my bill. The phone is a older phone iphone XS
Is there anyway to unlock this phone ? I have free government lifeline sim card I want to use in it .

One, please use the three dots to the right of your post to EDIT out your IMEI. This is a public forum and you don't want scammers/spammers/phishers getting that kind of information.
Two, where did you purchase the phone from? If you are getting an error message make sure that the phone meets all of the unlock requirements as given on the unlock portal. If it doesn't, then you won't be able to unlock it. If you purchased from someone you don't know, it's possible that the phone was reported as lost, stolen, or has an unpaid balance on it. If any of those are true, then you've been scammed. Only the original owner can take care of those issues.
