Transferring number before contract is up
My phone has died but I still have 30 days left on my contract. I planned on switching to Verizon prepaid once my AT&T contract was up; can I have my number ported now to Verizon, pay the last month of my AT&T contract, and avoid paying early termination fees?

If you port your phone out prior to the end of your contract, you will get an Early Termination Fee. It would be best to get a new phone on Verizon with a new number and port the number AFTER you are out of contract.
