Someone opened an account using my identity
I received mail about a Protect Advantage plan for a phone number ending in (Edited per community guidelines).
I did get a new cell phone. My identity was stolen two weeks ago, and while I have shut down everything, it would seem someone was still able to get a cell phone plan using it. I have tried several ways to contact both the Protect Advantage people AND AT&T about shutting down this account, however since I have no account number, phone number, or other way of showing "my account," I can't get through to an actual human being to hear me out.
What on earth do I have to do to get this fraudster's account shut down?
