SMS Not working. Network issue

Long story short, MMS works, data works, calls work, texts coming in from 5 or 6 digit numbers work, regular texting between 10 digit numbers does not work at all.

Remote support has done everything up to factory reset my S21. No dice. I put the sim card into my old S5, and still have the same issue. Got a new sim card. Still not working. Tried a friend's sim card in my S21, can text fine.

So. Something at the network level is blocking my texts.

What may have lead up to this.... for a few weeks I kept getting texts saying STOP from a bunch of random numbers. One person was nice enough to mention they were getting unwanted messages from my number. I definitely haven't sent any. Also ran half a dozen malware scans on my phone, nothing funny on there.

So, I'm guessing someone hijacked my number, and its now blocked on the network....

If AT&T made a new SIM card for your existing phone number, no one has hijacked your phone number..

But clearly there is some kind of a network problem.

Think your best course of action is probably to file on FCC complaint. Routine FCC complaint is free and a short 2 minute form. The complaint is forwarded to AT&T upper management and someone will contact you. Clearly they can't call you, so provide them with an email number or a temporary phone number so that they can get in touch with you
