Restore Cancelled Wireless Account
Decided to switch carriers due to some personal issues with AT&T and was told by a representative that after canceling my service, only then will I be able to transfer my phone number to a new carrier.
Fast forward to today where T-Mobile is telling me that numbers can only be ported from active lines.
My service was voluntarily suspended under the pretense that I needed to do that in order to move my number over. My question is, will I be able to reach out to AT&T, have them restore service to process the port and cancel it again? If so, what will be needed of me? That's been my phone number for the last 10+ years and I'd hate for something like this to mess it up.
This unfortunate situation just solidifies my decision to switch: AT&T's constant miscommunication
