Received a text from 11113000

Message states AT&T Free Msg: You're all set. You will start receiving your $10 monthly rate plan credit for each eligible phone line within 1-2 bill cycles, and will continue to receive the credit for as long as you remain on an Unlimited &More or Unlimited &More Premium plan, stay active and in good standing. View your account anytime at att.com/myatt (as a URL)

I am not on an unlimited plan and called AT&T to confirm. Is this really from AT&T? I don't understand why I received the message if so.

I am on a Mobile Share Advantage 20 gb plan. I did not make any changes to my plan. The plan includes a line for my husband. Below is the Screencast. Thanks for any help!

Hello, @kelseyw_99,

Thank you for that information. The text message is likely a tech error, but have you signed into your account, either online or via the app, to make sure you were still on the Mobile Share plan? Please let us know.

I want to know if this mesage is from AT&T, or if it is a spam message.

AT&T Free Msg: ACTION REQUIRED. As of 6/16/14, network charges in your area may result in interruption of your wireless service. Please call 866.***-**** or visit an AT&T store to select a FREE replacement phone to maintain your service & take advantage of network imporvements. No annual service contract req'd. Offer expires 7/15/14.

[Edited to comply with Guidelines - removed unverified phone number]

Hi,

I received the same text message from the 11113000 number which claimed to be from AT&T. I called their 866-xxx-xxxx number and the person on the phone said that AT&T is upgrading their wireless services to 3G [or 4G whatever] in my area [Houston TX] and my current cell phone won't work [I am not sure but mine is old phone not smartphone or iphone, so she seems to know some facts]. She said they could send the new replacement phone for free to my mailing address. Then she asked me for the account name and the last 4 digits of the social security number of the wireless account holder. I was hesitant to give the info and so handed up politely.

The deadline to get the free replacement phone is Nov 30th.

Can someone tell me if this is Really legit? Appreciate.

Thank you.

Hello @CheckLegit

You can always call AT&T's main customer care number or stop by the store to make sure you're talking to the right people. The main number is 1-800-331-0500 or 611 from your cell phone.

Thank you,

Dmitriy

Thanks Dmitriy for your reply. I called the customer care number and they verified that the text message was legitimate. Great!

Great, my message does say AT&T Free Msg:, therefore it was sent from a short code computer from AT&T, correct?

Received a message from 11113000, told me to activate a new phone AT&T sent to me, otherwise they will automatically activate the phone and disconnect my current phone.

1) I didn't order a new phone, can't understand why they sent a free phone to me.

2) My current phone is a powerful 4G phone, I don't want to change it to a simple free 4G phone.

Don't know if the message and free phone are really from AT&T or someone else.
