New costumer trying to activate new phones - BAD Instructions BAD Experience ever!

I took the bait and decided to switch carriers. AT&T sent us our new phones with the attached instructions. I live in Hawaii and when I called I got a message saying I need to call between 7am and 9pm CT. I called today and got a recording if I didn't want to hold I can have them call me back; but when I selected to have them call back, I was given the option of either tomorrow or the next 2 days! I called again and this time I decided to stay on hold.

When I finally got someone on the line I am told "thank you for calling, I can help you activate; would you be interested if we go over some products AT&T have to offer while we have you on the phone?". I declined and asked to help with activation and was told I would have to go to the website to do so. (Edited per community guidelines)! She tells me I had to call them so they could tell me the website to go to in order to activate my phones. Bad instructions to begin with and worst customer experience for someone that they just got their business with!

Activation instructions come in the box with your new phone. Did you look at any of the paperwork that came in the box? Including the quick start guide?

If you don't feel comfortable activating your phone by yourself, with instructions that are available in your package or online, then purchase your phone in a store and let them activate it for you.

Yes, I attached the image of the only instructions in the box but it looks like whoever monitors this took it down lol. Its not about me feeling comfortable with the instructions - the instructions are very inadequate, that is the point. I purchase this via AT&T promotion at Costco and they don't sell phones there, I am told phones are being shipped with instructions. Again, the point is that the phones arrived with the only instructions to call the number - No mention of a website at all. See image attached or link below. I am venting to help the next customer who signs up, so that they don't waste days following instructions to call instead of directing them online to do it! Simple.

Just an FYI Costco is not AT&T It's an authorized retailer possibly named Smart circle. They rent space in big box stores. They aren't always honest about AT&T prices or promotions
