Need help obtaining older phone records

Please help - I am trying to obtain phone records going back to mid 2020. The account was not a prepaid account, it was a regular account. The account itself was cancelled in December of last year (2022).

Thank you.

You have to call ATT.  If you're looking for detailed usage logs you have to specifically ask for them otherwise you just get bill details. Have you called and asked AT&T for this information?

They will ask questions to ascertain that this account does/did belong to you

Hello formerlyknownas/AT&T,

Thank you in advance for your continued support in the matter.

I was told I had to repost a new thread because I didn't answer Carlton's (from AT&T) invite to text through DM - in time. I was out of town at the time it came in, for Memorial Day.

When I got back into town and checked my messages, I saw that the thread was essentially closed by AT&T and that I was unable to send a response.

I then tried reaching out to Carlton directly via the phone number he had provided in the initial DM, including his direct extension. I left him a VM (his VM message confirmed his name and that I had the right person) but unfortunately I did not hear back.

I did this to avoid unnecessarily and redundantly starting a new thread for the same thing. Being a NOOB here, I didn't want to get off on the wrong foot :)

I gave it one last shot after another few days by following up again with Carlton hoping to make contact.

Strangely this time around, a message from either my cell carrier or AT&T (not sure which) came on right away citing this number was outside my calling area, something to that effect. Thinking it was a mistake or perhaps a misdial on my end, I checked the number and dialed again, same issue.

Pure speculation here, but it would seem that the use of these provided phone numbers is time sensitive, similar to allotment for responses via DM, with AT&T. Perhaps due to volume. Not quite sure here.

Anyhow, this is the back-story for what has led me to come back on here with a newly posted thread.

I realize you are probably thinking "that still doesn't explain why you haven't taken my advice from my response by just reaching out to AT&T yourself to request the information directly".

Well, there is an answer for that. Before I even knew this community existed or was a thing, I tried twice with two different AT&T agents and failed both times. To add, I was very specific with what I needed (detailed usage logs) vs. (reg. bill details). Both agents definitely tried to help - they just couldn't.

I just think that the issue was two part 1. they may not have been trained to handle this specific type of request or hadn't processed one before, 2. they may not have entirely understood exactly my request, even though I was very clear over the specificity of said request.

At that point, I went searching online myself to see if there was another way - that's when I happened upon this community and saw others successfully completing a similar request with more specialized service, perhaps.

Lastly, this time around when reposting the thread, I don't think anyone from AT&T saw it because I didn't receive a posted reply to the thread with a DM invite or a DM itself from AT&T, unlike last time where I received both.

DMs close in a few hours. Typically when that person who is offered direct message clocks out for the day.

If you had prepaid service, and I'm assuming it was not, there is no records.

Postpaid service they're looking for proper identification. If you can't provide it that might be the holdup.
