Military Deployment
Attempting to cancel my line as I will be deploying outside the United States for 6 months. I have submitted my deployment orders multiple times and the “Military Support Group” says my NATO deployment orders are not good enough and want my “original orders” with no information on what these original orders are. Well when you deploy to Europe that’s what you get (NATO orders) so I’m not sure how to get this resolved. I need to cancel my line as AT&T service will be unavailable and need to use a local carrier in Europe for my work.

Hello @jwoicik, we understand the importance of cancelling your line while on Military Deployment. We're happy to provide information to help resolve your concerns.
Thank you, @formerlyknownas for the helpful information provided. In addition, Military cancellations are processed by the Military Cancellation Team.
When you visit our Military Cancellation Request Form, you will be asked to upload a copy of your orders, you can blank out any confidential information such as location of deployment, but your name must be legible, and the request must indicate if the destination is within or outside the United States.
You can find more information on our Military Eligibility Requirements help page. There is also the contact information on how to reach our Military Support Team at the bottom of the page or by email: ATTMilitarySupportTeam@amcustomercare.att-mail.com
Thank you for your service. We're here if you have any additional questions. Thank you for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums.

Government deployment is a little different from military cancellation. I could be misunderstanding but I think what you want is government deployment suspension at one cent per month for 999 months.

Are you actually military? If so, what branch? If you are military, you still get orders issued by your branch of the military.

If you are military, do you not get anything from the Army that deploys you? You just get the orders from NATO?

Since this is a 6 month deployment, it must be a tdy but not sure that matters. I was Air Force, even when I worked at a joint headquarters, my tdy orders were alway issued by the Air Force. Sorry, I have no idea what ATT’s military support group is looking for. My suggestion is to escalate to corporate by filing an FCC or BBB complaint.

I'm confused as to why you don't have orders from the Army?

I understand I get orders issued by my branch and for my NATO deployment/assignment they gave our unit NATO deployment orders for our 6 month deployment and the AT&T military support group claims these are not valid orders when they contain all the information required by AT&T.

The OP never said his orders weren’t from the Army, only that they were “NATO orders” which I interpret as what unit he is deploying to, not who issued the orders.

These NATO orders are issued by US Army Europe as stated on one of the pages. They won’t accept them even though it has all the information they require on it.
