Issue with contacting Sales Rep
I had a rep come to my home before a scheduled install for fiber, to offer wireless service. He stated that he could match our current bill amount and also get us new phones and incentive gift cards. I have been trying to reach out to him for a week, since my bill ran and is set to be more than $80 over my previous bill/budget. I'm very frustrated with his lack of communication. I stated that if this bill can't be adjusted to meet his promises, we would be switching back to our previous carrier. I'd hate to do that, but it seems like my only recourse. Any advice?

Sounds like an independent sales agent selling AT&T services. Some are notorious for tactics like that. File a complaint with the BBB and have all of your paperwork ready for a call from AT&T.

@OttoPylot That could have been an ATT In Home Specialist and they are ATT employees. @jessidee123 A high first bill is normal and does not mean you won’t be getting what was promised. The first bill includes one time activation fees, it is for more than one month of service and not all discounts and credits have started yet. It is very possible the bill will be as promised once those discounts and credits show. Any promised gift cards regularly take several months.

@sandblaster I took all that into account. The activation fees were waived already on this bill, and the billing for the previous month was only in the $2 range, since this happened on 1/31. I essentially looked at the per month charges per line, and that's where my extra cost is coming from. I appreciate the information though; I don't know that I can wait around for discounts to get applied however. My monthly budget is tighter than a gnat's behind...

Discounts you probably will or are supposed to get, $10/line for autopay, 25% for being a fiber customer. If you did a trade in deal for phones, trade in credits haven’t started yet either. All of that could easily add up to $80. I guess if you can’t wait, you can’t wait but you only have 14 days to return phones. Once past that, you will be billed the remainder owed.

@sandblaster no trade in credits, but if there's a 25% off for fiber, that for sure wasn't viewable. And I didn't see any $10/line either. Any idea who I could contact to get that handled? Or would it not show until next cycle?

The $10/line autopay discount should start on the first bill that is scheduled for autopay. I would expect the 25% discount for being a fiber customer to start on the next bill, provided you are supposed to get that discount. I’m not sure if they are still offering that or if it applies to all plans.

@sandblaster That could very well be true that it was an AT&T Home Specialist. However, we’ve seen complaints like this before which makes me wonder if some of them have the same need/desire to make a sale similar to what some of the Retail outlets do.
