iPhone 5 to iPhone 6 trade in promo code does not work

Hello all,

I just received my promotion code in my e-mail (Ordered iphone 6 on 09/13/14, shipped out 09/15/14).

And the promo code does not work online for trading in an iPhone 5.

If it helps, I got the e-mail from att premier.

Does anyone else have this issue?

I also have this problem.

I am trying to trade in an iPhone 4.

I double checked to make sure I was using the correct promo code for the iPhone 4 (and not the iphone 5 which is a different promo code per the email sent by AT&T).

Every time I start the trade in process it says to verify the code is correct. It is! I even cut and pasted it to make sure it was typed exactly the same.

I called the phone number they have listed 888-445-6005 for trade in issues and they told me someone would email me in 24 hours.

Thanks for the tip Merethorn. I called up that number too. They told me they would get back to me either by text or e-mail within 3 to 5 business days though. I hope all goes well. I'll come back here to update what happens.

I just got my shipment notification email. How long after this email did you receive the trade in promotion code email?

If you have an AT&T corporate store nearby, you can always just take the old phone in and do the trade-in process in the store. If you do that, you will also get the promo card in your hand before you leave, rather than needing to wait several weeks to get it. You still have 4-5 more days to do that if you would rather not wait for the email code issue to be resolved.

Just went to a corporate store. They would only give me store credit. Which can only be used on in stock products. Can not use it to pay bill.

You may be better off selling your phone on eBay. I sold my 4s for $175 when AT&T was only offering me $100.

The Trade-In program promo code gives you $200 for a 4S, although I went through the same hassel with the promo code not working until they finally gave me one that did.

Just email the customercare team. Having the same problem with the code not being valid. The bright side of things, I have unlimited data.
