You are using a phone that is not capable of voice calls over the AT&T network. Because of that you will have to use an app that is capable of making voice calls over the data Network. Something like a Google Voice, Viber, or WhatsApp.

I have an iPhone 12 and I have the same issue. I turned VoLTE on and it did not change anything.

Same ! I turned it on and all it does is : call failed and no more 4G

That’s the same problem for me, i turned on the VoLTE mode but it changed nothing…

AT&T told me that i need to see that with my french operator.

IPhones should work. Whatever your problem is it is unrelated to Android phones.  I am only addressing those with android phones from this point on.

Can't be more clear than in my first post. 

Your phone would have reverted to AT&T 3-g network in the United States which no longer exists. 

You cannot make voice calls on non USA Androids.  You will have to make voice calls over a data, as suggested. 

@formerlyknownas I would really like it to work but it doesn't... I already contacted my french operator and they said they would send me an email since they can't call me to try to fix the problem. Would you know if there's something I can do on my iPhone to make it work?

Download a virtual calling application like the ones I listed. They all work on iPhone. FaceTime uses data that would work also.

IPhone 12 is compatible with AT&T service, so the alternate is buying AT&T SIM and service directly

@formerlyknownas So if I understand properly, right now normal calling just doesn’t work no matter the technology ? I have an iPhone XR with VoLTE

Again, my comments regarding incompatible phones and the lack of VoLTE is related to Android phones only.

There is no reason an iPhone would not work on AT&T. 

You are using another carrier, roaming on at&t.  I have no idea if your service provider has some sort of incompatibility with AT&T is HD voice.

Hello @Yelarrasse and everyone, so it works for me now! I did not do anything except that I went to Mexico for some days and obviously my phone was working there and when I came back to the States it worked too. So I know it’s not an ideal answer but if you happen to go to Mexico and come back I guess that should work?

Hey @Cedric2302 it’s working for me again too ! But I’ve had major issues before getting it all back. I had no more data … I was told to do the IOS update and now I have data and voice calls, but no more texts. Have you checked if your texts work ? I can’t receive or send … and Free is pretty slow … 

Hello @Yelarrasse sorry for being so long to answer. The texts worked for me. I am using the past because nothing works anymore. I don’t know why, I didn’t do anything… 

Could you please tell me what you did in order for it to work? Because the only thing I did was leaving to Mexico and come back.
