Fraud

Hello I am reaching out because someone has created an account with my social and I am about to be billed 1,271.92 this is outrageous. No one is replying back to me, I called ATT fraud department and they dismissed my case like I am the one that created this account.

Call their Global Fraud Management back (make sure you are calling the correct number). If that still gets dissmissed, file a BBB complaint as that goes to the corporate level.

My understanding is they have traditional business hours. Likely closed right now, but you can call and see if you can leave a message or get a confirmation of what the hours are. If nothing else, call tomorrow after either 6 or 8 EST would be a safe bet.

The AT&T Global Fraud department is a fraud! We take our valuable time to submit an online complaint and in a matter of days it is dismissed without an investigation or explanation for their findings. I don’t know how this company is allowed to operate in this manner. Yes, contact the BBB because I can tell you, you will not get a resolution and your credit will be negatively impacted even though you did not authorize the charges in the first place. The fraud department is a joke and a scam and has only been implemented to deter and frustrate loyal customers.

@Drelly I believe I can tell you exactly why your case was dismissed without any investigation. If your complaint was about the phone and phone line added to your account two years ago as you described in your other post, as I predicted, you are going to have a very difficult time convincing anyone the line wasn’t authorized two years later.

AT&T like practically any company expects to be notified within a reasonable time if there is a billing issue or other dispute. Going 2 years before you noticed an extra phone line on your account makes it look like you are trying to scam them.

Sorry but their Global Fraud department is not a fraud as you accuse. You simply left a problem go far beyond any reasonable time frame to dispute. Consider the money of that line your cost of the lesson that it is your responsibility to manage your finances and bills and not expect companies to personally review them each month for you.
