Denied new account service for no reason

I had my most frustrating experience with AT&T just now. I was on a call with them for over an hour trying to switch from T-Mobile and bring in 2 lines. After spending an hour the fraud lady comes on the line and says your application is denied without giving any reason. ? I have lived same address for 7 years , an existing customer for internet , T-Mobile phones I am trading in are paid and account is paid off. My credit score is over 800 and they still denied. Outrageous !!

Hello, @Pickoo_prashant. We understand that you are trying to set up a new account, and we're here help.

As @formerlyknownas pointed out, the account was likely flagged due to a piece or portion of information that could not be verified or was inconsistent.

We recommend that you visit a corporate AT&T store to verify the information. To do so, go to our store locator, click Filter in the right-hand corner, select Company Owned Stores, and enter your zip code.

Let us know if this helps!

Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

The reason is almost guaranteed to be something that does not check out. Either your credit card is in a different name, or the address is not correct with your ID.

Something does not cross check. So they are assuming that you are not who you say you are.

Are you saying that you already have AT&T internet service?

AT&T uses an “internal credit score” in addition to your FICO score.  This “internal credit score” has its own parameters.

What sort of history do you have with other AT&T services?

I have the same issue, had an ATT fiber for quite some time, and migrated my number from Verizon recently without any issues.

When trying to migrate my wife's line I've got denied.

No reason was provided, tried to visit to a shop and was denied again.

I called them like 5 times, with no luck at all, different people, and different departments say the same.

That is a terrible experience.

Literally, today, just experienced this. I initial got approved and paid for my phones online. Well they were not shipped as I was told they would be rushed. Well I needed the phones before I left for my trip because I didn't want them left outside.  The lady guaranteed they would be here today (Saturday).  As I leave tomorrow (Sunday). After checking on them, I was finally told warehouse didn't have them.  So at this point I can find a store to get them.  Well they canceled the order and I went to the store. And I was in the store 6 hours....6 hours! Only to have my credit check about 8 times and got approved but when they tried to set the phones up it prompted to call fraud. And they asked me the same questions and then would deny...then I would get approved...and then denied again. It got to the point that when we explained it to the fraud dept, they themselves were confused as to what was happening. The rep would approve it, we would start again setting up the phones and then it would prompt to call again. And I saw someone from AT&T mention to take your ID to the store.  Specifically a corporate store...well that's where I was for 6 hours today. And nothing was done. Address the same on my ID where I have lived almost 6 years. I'm a real estate agent. The state of NC does a rigorous background check for a license. I've seen some waiting for months. And I had no issues. But a phone where I proved my identity still was denied for fraud. I will never ever recommend or try AT&T again.

No reason needed. AT&T has no obligation to do business with anyone.

Same here trying to switch my 2 personal phone lines from Verizon. I attempted to switch by phone, chat and at an AT&T store twice. Got denied 4 times. I called 3 credit bureaus. All 3 said the information I gave AT&T matches my file and there is no issues with your credit. And I just got new t-mobile account/phone 2 weeks ago to use for work without any issues.
