Chat with a human?

I have a unique situation and need to speak with a human.  I have no cell service, so I cannot possibly call.

Hello Community,

Our online site has had some changes over the years, so we wanted to share the most current way to get support and chat with us if needed.

  1. Go to our Contact Us website
  2. Choose the Service you need assistance with (Wireless, Internet, etc)
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the next page and you'll see a "Chat with a rep" option
Thanks

I take it you don't have a friend/family member or friendly neighbor that you could use a phone temporarily (even a traditional landline)?

They have chat, but I would caution against it. It appears to be heavily outsourced with very bad information provided lately. And those transcripts do not save to your account, so are gone as soon as the chat has ended. If you go to AT&T's website and in the "Contact Us" section, you will find the option. Though it will only list and be clickable if there is an available chat agent (doesn't have a hold option like when you call).

The other option would be going into an AT&T (corporate) store for official support.

Alternatively, in this public forum there are some very experienced customers and the occasional employee off-the-clock. Perhaps we could help. Sometimes at least we can provide some guidance before you contact official support to get you in the right direction.

I do have people who have offered me the use of their phones; however, I use my phone for work also, so it can be a bit much switching numbers on people.  Thank you for your thoughts.  I have made progress, but the person I have my number under is not in good health at this point.  Praying for a miracle!

I more meant borrowing the phone to call customer support. Certainly would not be a good idea for long term, especially for work use. In that situation perhaps a prepaid phone would be a good investment so you have something consistent while you resolve whatever the issue is with your main phone.

There's no reason to make multiple posts and really no reason to hold multiple conversations.

@brandgbenjamin

Start a new thread for your issue if you wish to discuss with other customers, as this thread is about getting help with phone service so unrelated to smart home manager.

Otherwise, call AT&T for official support.

AT&T doesn't fix phones or help you fix phones. You mentioned your service was suspended. Did you already get that issue resolved, i.e., your service was restored.

What is wrong with your phone? What does "BROKEN" mean exactly?

If it's under warranty, you have to call AT&T. You can should borrow a phone from a family member, friend, or neighbor. As a last resort, you could probably go to an AT&T store and ask to call from there.

Is it an iPhone? You can go to an Apple store or try their tech support site. https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=psp&PRKEYS=PL133

Is it out of warranty or "broken" in a way that the warranty wouldn't cover? Do you have insurance? If so, you can file a claim online: https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1000580/

I agree that it sounds like a service issue. If you log in to your online account, there will be an option for chat. Otherwise, you will have to find a way to call.

Not finding what you're looking for?
