Cannot access AT&T Support or Support Chat anywhere

I have some billing questions regarding my new AT&T Samsung Galaxy S10+, but I cannot figure out how to get access to AT&T's support chat. It used to be right on the bottom of AT&T's page, and in the corner of the AT&T Premier page. Now I just get an endless loop of useless support articles and no help.

Does anything know how I can get into contact with AT&T?

I think I would have tried that.

There is nothing here for me to click on. The Chat icon is not a clickable button. There is nothing lower on the page either.

Sure, I can ask here. I wanted to make a larger bulk payment on my AT&T Next Every Year Galaxy S10+. There was no option to make a down payment when I was upgrading my phone. Only AT&T Next, AT&T Next Every Year, 2-year Contract, and purchase outright. There was no option for the traditional installment with customized down payment like we used to use through AT&T Premier.

Support chat misled and lied to me saying I'd be able to make a payment after I set up my AT&T Next Every Year contract and got the phone. When that happened, all I could find on the website was a link to completely pay off the phone, or to pay off half of it to upgrade later. This isn't what I wanted to do. I wanted to pay off a custom amount such as $300-500 and make my monthly payment lower like we have done in the past.

That's an easy question, but you won't like the answer.

It's not possible. Like you said, you were misled/lied to/talked to an unknowledgeable rep.

If you have $300 or $500 to pay AT&T, why not put that money in a savings account and earn some interest. When your remaining installments are $300 or $500, pay off the phone. It won't change the pay off date at all. Or put that money toward another debt where you have to pay interest (if you have any). No sense paying off a no-interest loan early if you're paying interest elsewhere.

On the bottom of this page (forum) is the “contact us” link.  Chat is available there.

OR,  you can ask the forum.

Sign into your account online first.   Have you created an access ID?

Yup, easy.  And @MicCheck is correct. The only time to add extra is as a down payment.
