cancel family plan (abroad)

I’m currently not in the US but my friend who is in the same family plan is still in the States, but she’ll be leaving soon. Before I go back to my country I asked AT&T customer service via phone about how to cancel it and he said I can turn it off on mobile phone setting so I turn it off but the billing still sent to me, am I doing correct or the billing still sent to me because my friends there? Is there any way to cancel it?

An authorized user will have to call and request the entire account be disconnected effective whenever no one needs those numbers anymore. There's no other way to disconnect service.

Is this a prepaid or a post paid plan?

Postpaid plans you have to call to cancel service and it has to be the account owner

Prepaid service is different and it is self-managed You're supposed to log into your individual account and turn off auto pay. You'll get a couple of refill reminders.  But you do not have to refill prepaid service there is no penalty. Prepaid service will cancel on its own after 60 days and at least two reminders.  

If you aren't sure whether it's prepaid or postpaid please tell us a little bit more about the plan ?

It’s unlimited talk and text and we paid around 200$ each month/50$ per person depending on how much data we use something like this.

Well that's definitely postpaid. You'll have to call. You'll have to identify yourself with your PIN code and possible social security number.

Just an FYI temporary customers should really sign up for prepaid not postpaid. Group plans for prepaid users are much cheaper.  And very simple to cancel by simply turning the off switch on the refill option in the online account
