Buy One get One Free Promotion
Is there anyway to get the credit without opening a new line? My wife and I need new phones but we already have service and don't need any additional lines.

You do not have to open new lines. You do have to be eligible for new phones with the Next financing.
please carefully read the promotion.

You are correct. One of the two phones must be a new line in order to get the "buy one, get one" credit. I do not believe there is any way around that requirement but if you were willing to get a new wireless number for one of your phones, you could get a new line and cancel one of your existing lines.

They keep adding to the restrictions. Wish I Had taken the screen shot on the first day. A new line of service was not in the requirements, and it isn't in the details of the offer either.
It becomes less and less of a good deal every day. Too bad.

Yeah I have no idea, if you take a look at this link there are two different footnotes numbered 1.
https://www.att.com/shop/wireless/samsung-galaxy-s6-buy-one-get-one-free.html
One says requires a new line, second says nothing. I called a few stores and they definitely said requires a new line. That is a total bummer.

I guess that is a possibility, not really psyched about changing numbers.

What if I cancel my service? Then let's say I start new service.

What's the difference if you cancel a line? If the line is out of contract, no problem, but you lose your number.
You wouldn't want to cancel both lines.

Sure I guess it just means I would have to get a new phone number?

Unfortunately, I don't think that will work. For one thing, you would still lose your phone numbers unless you ported them to somewhere else and then ported them back. Also, I am pretty sure that if you re-establish service within 6 months of cancelling, your old account is reactivated so I don't know if the 2 lines would be treated as new lines or not, especially if you do retain the old numbers.
