ATT refusing to honor first responder discount
My wife and I are both eligible for the first responder (multi-line) discount per ATT's documentation. We opted to put the account in her name as she had her proof of eligibility with her at the time the sales person approached us. My wife is a 911 Dispatcher. She has now spent SEVERAL hours submitting, resubmitting and gone in person to an ATT store to try to get this resolved. She has submitted her "badge", she is issued a plastic name card with her picture, name and the agency clearly listed, although they abbreviate Public Safety Communications Center as "P.S.C.C." or what I would think is obvious reason. She has sent a pay stub showing she is paid by the Fiscal Court. The associate at the store submitted pictures of his ID card next to her work ID with a note explaining that PSCC is abbreviated as noted above. This is not even counting the sales person confirming her eligibility BEFORE we even signed up. It has be 20 days of this and NO ONE has been able to step up and say enough.
Now she is being told to have a letter written on a letterhead stating that she is an employee. At this point, I doubt that is going to be accepted. I can easily create a letterhead, says I'm so and so and she is whatever. This is beyond horrible customer service. This is my last ditch effort for someone to correct the problem. I am at the point I want to just drop ATT and go back to my old provider despite the fact the being talked into moving to ATT has probably ruined any chance of getting my old loyalty rate back. I'd rather pay more to a company that will actually fix an issue than make you run in circle until, I believe, you just give up.

I’m having the same issue. Att store employee says My wife’s ID was fine and discount was applied only to get an email saying her position is not a first responder. We uploaded her work Id to our Att account with live att support on line but it still came back denied

The account has to be in the name of the person applying for the discount, and they have to have a role to which the discount applies:
Is your wife the account holder? What's her job?

I’m getting the same run around, I am an on call angiographer (x-ray tech) for emergency vascular and interventional traumas coming into the emergency room, for a level one trauma center. We are on call with a 30 minute window for arrival once paged out. I have provided a letter from my boss stating so and am still being denied. I switched to ATT FIRST NET, due to issues with Verizon, This is rediculous

Well you should train your reps and employees as I feel deceived. I was perfectly happy with my Metro/ T-mobile family plan service that I had for 12 years before your reps at Sam's and your corporate store talked us into switching and also said that my wife's job qualified us for the first responder discount. I'm totally disgusted not only that I get a different story from the stores than what I get from ATT. The whole process from when I started last Sept till today has been totally confusing and frustrating.

Does anyone do any research on their own???
Who is eligible for FirstNet?
FirstNet is exclusively for first responders and those that support their vital efforts. This includes law enforcement, fire protection services, emergency (911) call dispatching and government Public Safety Answering Points, emergency planning and management offices, and emergency medical services. Other essential personnel who support first responders before, during and after an emergency can also subscribe to FirstNet. These organizations provide medical care, mitigation, remediation, overhaul, clean-up, restoration, or other such services during or after an incident.
