at&t potential scam?
i’m getting phone calls from a LOCAL area code stating they are at&t and i need to return my equipment. i recently opened my line and added a phone, i pay them monthly. this is my first account ever with at&t and not sure why this is happening. they inform me to call back on a different number in the voicemails.

Sounds suspicious to me. The area code means nothing if the call is being spoofed. If you are not having any issues with your service or billing then I'd ignore them and not call back on any number they give you. If you are in doubt, call Billing directly and see what they have to say.
