AT&T, 55+ senior citizen Florida plan with a hotspot for $50
I was sold the AT&T 55+ Florida senior citizen, unlimited talk text and data with a hotspot for $50 after auto pay and paperless billing in 2021. AT&T refuses to honor that and they never have. I discovered in February 2023 that I never have had a hotspot this entire time and have a had to pay $15 over that amount most of the time. They claimed they’ve never had such a plan, although I spent nearly 8 hours speaking to for AT&T, virtual sales representatives, who are quoted me the same price and the same plan was the same hotspot, etc. I requested an email verifying the price etc. and I do have that. However, AT&T does not want to honor this price and have caused me undo health issues and accelerated my already pre-existing health issues. I was going to terminate the plan and return an iPad, which I would’ve never purchased. Had I known they were going to turn around after me speaking to the app for sales people and state that I was given “misinformation”… AT&T signature excuse.
to add insult to injury, the day prior to me, having to go and swallow a capdule to look at my small intestine, and coincidentally, right after I told him I was going to be returning the iPad that next day and canceling the plan, they texted me and said thank you for your payment of nearly $300. It was 200 and something I have the text and photos of it. Unfortunately because I was ill and have lost over 30 something pounds getting biopsies etc. for months and months, I did not see the text until after they were closed so I could not speak to any AT&T person. I tried to chat with them all night, because I desperately needed that money for a co-pay for the test I had to receive the next day. I stayed up till 8 AM already sick. Finally got a hold of an AT&T tech-support person at 8 AM who looked at the account, saw that I never set up paperless billing or auto pay and looked at the notes which stated that I was intending on returning the iPad and discontinuing the plan because it was in the allotted time frame and my bill was not even due yet. So , basically, AT&T illegally stole this money from the card that I used to put down as a down payment for the iPad. My bill wasn’t even due, I had only been on the plan for approximately 10 days and have been arguing with them every day, and they have been refused to honor the plan. Unfortunately because I was so literally exhausted and had been so ill as I stated lost over 40 pounds had been getting biopsies etc. etc. I had to force myself to drive to my G.I. doctor pay the $200 which, thankfully the AT&T rep returned because it was illegal. As I stated, I refuse to set up auto pay or paperless billing because they have never honored it and I had told them right before they did this but I was canceling the service. Unfortunately because I was so exhausted and sick and had to stay at my G.I. doctor because I was about to pass out and have a heart attack from no sleep, and all of this stress, I was unable to return the iPad that day, and because I had to sleep the next night and had just been totally wiped out I could not return the iPad, so I was basically stuck in this plan. And have been ever since and it has never been honored. And on top of insult to injury, they refused to Honor the next up plan on a Phone that I purchased last year in 2022. I am done with this I went through nightmares for months and months and months when they illegally merged my U-verse that I had at the time when I was a customer for 10 years up until 2019… It was going to the ER when I saw on a text that they had said my password had been changed. I was routed to the Philippines. I found out when I was released from the hospital two days later, that they had it indeed illegally merged, my then U-verse account with my AT&T cellular . It was a nightmare that I can’t even put into words and has contributed to the decline of my health which is now worse than ever after this last it with them over the last two years. I found that they had done this 2000s and thousands of other customers when I research this online. Their only remedy was after three months of receiving four and $500 bills from the AT&T UVerse side which I did not owe and they acknowledged I never owed it on the other side, but just claimed they could not talk to one another or communicate with one another… They call me one morning from the “back room“ another great term. They love to you throw around when they need to pass the back… The mysterious back room. Had to call me and tell me they must create me a whole new account because I could not disconnect the other two which they illegally merged, and I had to become a new customer now when I looked at this online, I saw they did this like I stated to thousands of other AT&T customers. This is totally insane and it’s illegal everything they do. It’s not only illegal but immoral. They had notations on my account that “customer refused offer“ they admitted that the person who did it had made an error, but unfortunately, they could not tell me his name and stated he no longer works for AT&T. I am speechless when I think about all of this. No one in my family whatever go back to AT&T they’ve all gone to Verizon. I would love to go back to Verizon but now I’m stuck and not only the contract with two devices, because I could not return the first one due to my health and lack of sleep from them illegally taking money from my credit card that I used to pay on the iPad, which I would’ve never purchased like I stated if I had known that after eight hours in for sales people and an email verifying this plan so to me for this amount, they would still try to turn around and lie about it, and not honor it. I would advise anyone and everyone to stay clear of AT&T. I promise the last time that I would never go back to them. And after this is over, I never will. Unfortunately, the fact that I’ve had to stay on the phone with them for half of my life at Sam’s and this has exasperated my health to the point that I can’t even put it into words. My time is valuable. My health is valuable. And AT&T , unfortunately has callously disregarded either. If they do not make this, right, I have already initiated a legal retribution against them. I am a widow on Social Security disability and a fixed income, and this is how they treat me when I was a loyal customer to them since 2009. it’s disgraceful and egregious they care nothing about their customers only their bottom line …. They care nothing about justice, and I fully intend to have mine, and not just for myself for every other customer who has been wronged by this company. And has not only struggle financially, but had their health completely obliterated from an in in the time it’s the time my time is worth money my time is worth money. My health is worth everything they don’t seem to care about either one. This is not how you do business. Believe me do not and I repeat, do not believe anything they try to sell you.
