48 hour hold on the new account. I cannot access ATT account or add more lines.

I went to Target Mobile! Ported numbers from Tmobile to ATT. Activated the first line then when the person tried to add more lines it threw a saying account look up error. When I called ATT to add passcode they said ATT has put 48 hour hold on the account. Therefore, I cannot add any more lines or do anything with the account. I am very frustrated with AT&T. Making my life miserable. Please help or advise.

Hello @xxakashxx17, this is not the experience we want you to have, and we're happy to help with information to resolve your account concerns.

We take your account privacy seriously. If you attempted to add new lines to your account, it may be required to validate a one-time PIN to complete the Add-a-Line transaction. We understand how frustrating this may be, and we want to provide you with the steps to take to complete adding a line to your account after 48 hours have passed.

  • Keep in mind a credit evaluation is performed to determine if a deposit is required. Once your account is set up you can visit our Add a Line help page and click "Get Started" to begin the add a line process.

If you are unable to access your AT&T account. and don’t already have an ID. Create one now and choose the first account you want to manage at myAT&T.

  1. Go to the myAT&T sign-in page and select Create one now.
  2. Enter your AT&T phone number or account number and your billing ZIP Code. You may also be asked to enter a verification code.
  3. If there’s already a user ID for the account, choose from the options listed.
  4. Enter your personal info to prove your identity.
  5. Choose how you want to receive your verification code, if asked.
  6. Enter the verification code we send you.
  7. Enter a new user ID and password. Be sure your ID is an email address that starts with a letter.
  8. Save your ID and your password to your device, if you choose.
  9. Enter the contact info for your user ID.
  10. Set up your security questions and answers.
  11. Accept the AT&T User ID Terms & Conditions.
  12. Choose whether you want to sign up for paperless billing for your accounts, if asked. If you go paperless, we’ll email you a link. Select it to verify your email address.
  13. Select Finish Activation, if you’re creating an ID in the middle of a device activation process

Good to know: We may ask for a wireless number, so you can get sign-in help by text message. Let us know if you have any questions, we're happy to help. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
