When I select "cable box", a gray screen comes up with a red X.

I've tried restarting by pressing power button the front of box for 10 seconds; unplugging power cable from back of box for 10 seconds; unplugging power cord from wall and from plugged into surge protector (with 10 sec. intervals) and down arrow, OK and Power buttons... everything suggested by the community forums. The red X remains. I think I need a new DVR box?

Does it come up with a number after the red X?

IF NO, is the LINK light on?

IS the DVR connected on coax or ethernet?

If no number and no link light should be a connection issue with either wiring or the connection on the gateway.

If on coax try resetting the gateway, should have Home HPNA light on if detects receivers on coax.
